The best events to attend – Nov/2011 (Brazil)  

In the last month or so we had a lot of really nice things happening in the entrepreneurial Brazilian scene. So many, that I couldn’t update the blog to tell you about at least a few …  I will try to summarize some of the activities and past events in the following posts, but firstly I would like to let you know about some amazing featured opportunities in the next days/weeks. Check it out! 

We are in the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011 and a lot of things are going on at the same time.  This initiative of Kauffman Foundation is led by Endeavor in Brazil. You can check the official activities’ schedule here.

What angel investing is and how to get it (online): the presentation will be webcasted tomorrow at 6:30pm by Anjos do Brasil (Angels of Brazil Association). Visit here to apply and get the details.

Startup Health Brazil – A pitch for Health (Sao Paulo): organized by EmpreenderSaude, the event starts at 7pm and is focused on startups in the health industry. EmpreendeFloripa 2011 (Florianopolis): another initiative inside the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011, the event will offer several lectures about entrepreneurship, including the presentation about Angel Investing of Anjos do Brasil on the 17th. Check the agenda here.

SP Startup Weekend (Sao Paulo): the second edition of Startup Weekend in Sao Paulo City happens next weekend at ESPM. Check the details here.

VI Unicamp Ventures’ Annual Event (Campinas): the event happens at Unicamp and is organized by the Unicamp Ventures group (the network of entrepreneurs who have studied or taught at Unicamp University) with the support of Inova, the Unicamp’s Innovation Agency.  This year, the agenda starts at 2pm and will have lectures and panels about:

-       Investments in Silicon Valley x Brazil (General Atlantic)

-       Creating global companies made in Campinas (Cesar Gon, Ci&T)

-       Exit Strategies with 3 cases

-       Investments in Campinas (moderated by Fernando Matt, Ci&T)

-       Getting the first investor partner (moderated by Alexandre Neves)

-       Creating a one billion company (Carlos Terepins, EVEN)

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Forum – Mentoring (Campinas):  the forum happens at Unicamp and will bring the mentoring cases of Endeavor (Fernanda Antunes), Aceleradora (Yuri Gitahy), Artemisia (Maure Pessanha) and the experience of Unicamp with the mentoring program of Unicamp Ventures (Roberto Lotufo and Alexandre Neves) and in the Unicamp Challenge (Marcos Ferreti).More info and application here.

Rio Business Innovation (Rio de Janeiro): a great event to help entrepreneurs and innovators discuss and explore all the current and future opportunities generated by the Olympics, the World Cup, the pre-salt oil discoveries and the growth of creative businesses in the Rio de Janeiro State. And the most important: the attendees will learn about the Business Model Generation directly with the father of this methodology, Alexander Osterwalder, who will give a workshop in the first day. The event is an initiative of InoveLab in partnership with Nodal Consultancy and Innove Service, supported by FGV Rio, TV Bandeirantes and the BMGen Innovation Network. La RedInnova (Sao Paulo):  the conference is called the #1 “on innovation, Internet, creativity, and entrepreneurship where Latin America meets the World in Brazil”. Besides the conference with several international speakers and the exhibition area, the event will have a startup competition. The deadline to apply for the startup competition was yesterday, but you still can apply to attend the conference here. It is a unique opportunity to learn all the key issues of the digital world and meet those who are driving the Internet economy, with great networking with the speakers and attendees.
