Startup Weekend Campinas - Pitches and Judges

You've probably seen all the Tweets about the final pitches and the winners.

Congratulations for all the teams!!! And the Oscar goes to:

1. Hobloo (@EspiritoHobLoo)

A collaborative platform to learn new hobbies and receive unique offers.

They've pivoted several time throughout the event until the last minute ... until they've found the winner business model!

Team: @thiagopaiva, @carlosgarbiatti, @gabrielfern, Steve Rubens, @iedakm, Lucas Torres de Jesus

"Do something new, do HobLoo!"

2. Paladar (@paladarapp) (former Tô com Fome/I'm Hungry)

Basically, a shared phonebook for food delivery.

They've had problems with their initial domain name, they've changed the name and delivered 2 mobile apps (IPhone and Android), an API web and a customer paying for the service ... everything during the event. Several early adopters are asking for the service!

Team: @andlima, @guimello_silva, @obvio171, @augustorsouza, @alexandrearc, @lfstrano

3. VideoVivo (videovivoapp@gmail.com)

VideoVivo is a geolocation smartphone app for connecting people with common interests via video, live.

They've showed a demo live during the pitch and they are looking for funding to launch the product. Check this out:

- Video pitch

- Try the prototype here

- Spreasheet with the financial projections

Team: @oferbaharav, @rafaelcgo, @williammdias, @juanpinazo,

And distinctions for:

- Execution: Play2Be (@Play2beWorld, Facebook)

LEARN how to play any musical instrument having FUN (a LiveMocha for musical instruments learning).

They've worked really hard going from only the idea to a whole functional prototype. Using a Business Model Canvas and Scrum/Agile project management techniques, hey've built a real team during the weekend connecting people from Joinville/SC, Campinas/SP, Fernandópolis/SP and Itatiba/SP. They've contacted several celebrities and tested the whole model with customers.

They've even made uniformed t-shirts and a big banner! They already have buyers for their t-shirts :o, but they want more customers and investments to move on! Support them if you wanna learn how to play any musical instrument in a whole new way!

Team: @joaozaratine, @marcel_ono, @vhmarques, @Jeanfelipelima, @sardagna, @dcontezini, @bbranta

- Social Impact: Partido Aberto (Open Party - Facebook, @PartidoAberto)

A wiki for direct democracy.

They've impressed the judges because of the relevance of this theme, who suggested them to think about a way to monetize and make the business sustainable. Visit the website and support the project!

Team: Cristiano Cairoli (@cairoli), Claudio Basckeira (@CMBaskeira), Renato Ezquerro, Guilherme Pereira Zanoni, Weslley Marques (@weslleyanjos), Diego de Araujo e Bruno

The info about all the teams in the post Startup Weekend Campinas: the teams are working on ... were updated, so you can connect with the winners and all the other teams and be an early adopter :)

At least Peludos (My Pets - @MeusPeludos) is one of the teams who is intending to move forward with the startup. They intend to invest their work without any return just to make the project happen! So, the initial investment is really low. Support them and help to solve the problem concerning abandoned pets!

It's amazing to see how all the teams evolved from Friday to Sunday, working together really hard and producing amazing results.

The judges' panel was composed by Cesar Gon (Ci&T), José Rodolpho Bernardoni (Ewiks), Edson Rigonatti (Astella Investimentos), Fernando Matt (Ci&T), Eduardo Coppo (Dextra), Rene Fernandes (FGV) and Fabricio Bloisi (Movile).

Several good advices and feedback were given to the teams.

Fabricio Bloisi asked the teams to explore more the data obtained through the Lean Startup Methodology presanting the pitch, using it to justify the pivots and decisions made by the teams. "The data are to valuable. Explore them to build your pitches.", he said.

Edson Rigonatti congratulated all the teams, but highlighted the lack of a deeper research (the use of AdSenses, for example) and more focus on the problem to be solved by the startups.

Fernando Matt suggested all the teams to train more the pitch, because those few minutes are the only resource the judges or investors have to assess your product.

Eduardo Coppo suggested the teams to emphasize the monetization model and be more agressive in their projections.

Cesar Gon highlighted the role of the event developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Campinas and suggested intensify the application of the learning process through the lean startup, trying to reach a real unique value proposition. He also mentioned the importance of the decision about your partnerships founding the business.

The organizers received several good feedbacks about the event and several attendees and online viewers noticed how the participants and the event itself evolved compared to the November 2010 edition in São Paulo. It indicates that we are in the right direction: the more events and actions to foment the innovation and the entrepreneurship, the faster we will improve our skills and competitiveness in the global market.

You can watch the whole Friday and Sunday sessions at http://www.livestream.com/innoveur It will be great to learn watching the pitches and feedbacks of the judges!

It's important to mention that we've had an amazing and live online audience. We've stayed close to 100 viewers nearly all the event on Sunday and with a live chat full of interesting comments and high quality discussions.

Congratulations all the teams and thank you very much for all the sponsors, speakers, judges, online audience, Startup Weekend .org and organizers of Campinas Campinas Startups!

The next event is coming soon!
